Week 14 NFL Picks – Part II

Filed under: NFL, NFL Predictions — Caveman @ 5:37 pm

Mediocrity has set in with back-to-back 8-8 weeks and I am still one game under .500.

This week: 1-0

Indianapolis -13.5 over Cincinnati – You know what just went public this week – the fact that the Colts have won six straight games by six points or less. Something is definitely wrong in Indy, but they should have plenty of offense to cover this spread.

Chicago -6.5 over Jacksonville –You know it’s bad for J-Ville when the Matt Jones is the player who looks like he cares the most about winning. J-Ville is far and away the most disappointing team in the NFL and they’ve flat out quit on Del Rio.

Minnesota -10.5 over Detroit – Matt Millen should be very proud of this Lions team he assembled.

Houston +6 over Green Bay – The return of Matt Schaub means the Packers will have to rely on Plan B and they cannot count on Rosenfels throwing a back-breaking interception.

Tennessee -14 over Cleveland – Ken Dorsey is starting for the Browns. And no Kellen Winslow. Romeo still can’t coach and Braylon still can’t catch. It’s going to be a long day in the Dawg Pound.

Philadelphia +6.5 over NY Giants – The odds-makers are begging bettors to take the Giants. And speaking of crazy spreads . . .

San Francisco +4 over NY Jets – What? Four measly points! If I didn’t know any better I would think the odds-makers were giving everyone a Christmas present. But that would require a heart and we all know that odds-makers are heart-less and soul-less and they not only want Junior’s college fund but they want the 19.99 it would costs to buy a Zac Efron High School Musical doll.

New Orleans -3 over Atlanta – I love this Atlanta team, but Saints are a different team at home. See, voo-doo does work. Ouch, what was that sharp piercing pain in my back!

Arizona -14 over St. Louis – The Cardinals are like well-developed 8th grade kid, who has been held back twice – sure that kid can dominate the 7th and 8th graders, but once he gets to high school he is in for a rude awakening. Much like what is going to happen to the Cardinals when they get to the playoffs.

Miami Pick over Buffalo – Toronto is treated to this beaut. There will be chants of “Coups de football Américain” (American football blows).

Kansas City +9 over Denver – Denver wins in Atlanta, losses at home verse the Raiders, wins in New York, losses to Kansas City at home. I sense a trend.

Pittsburgh -3.5 over Dallas – No Marion Barber. That is a bigger problem than just losing a running back, now you have to put a rookie running back in against the Steelers multiple blitz packages. Romo will be hearing this quote, from a famous Hungarian action hero, – “Look out, behind you!”

Seattle +7 over New England – As long as this game ends up something like 55-50, I will be happy.

Washington +5 over Baltimore – I still cannot take the Ravens seriously. But I am excited about the easy win they will provide me in the first round of the playoffs.

Carolina -3 over Tampa Bay – Tampa hasn’t looked right for quite some time, I think my pre-season prediction about their defense getting old is finally starting to come true.

The good news – the Panthers are looking like a “one and done” in the playoffs and thus provided me with another certain playoff win (I only need 11).
