Week 11 NFL Picks Part II

Filed under: NFL, NFL Predictions — Caveman @ 5:01 pm

The quest for “50 games over .500″ is in serious jeopardy right now, I need to hit 11 of the remaining 15 games this week.

This week – 0-1 (for those counting at home two consecutive Thursday night losses)

Atlanta -6.5 over Denver – Romeo Crennel isn’t walking through that door! A decent NFL coaching staff coach should be able to figure a plan to stop a one-dimensional Broncos team.

Jacksonville +3 over Tennessee – Jacksonville is about as dysfunctional as you can get, but they still have talent. The Jags and Titans are like two friends who grew up in the same neighborhood. Then one of them won the lottery, moved to an upscale neighborhood, started wearing sweaters around their neck and having exclusive tea parties. The other friend is more than a tiny bit pissed about the situation.

Miami -10.5 over Oakland – Here’s the problem with taking the Raiders to cover any spread – they can’t score, so how can you feel comfortable picking them. The Raiders got 4 interceptions last week and forced the Panthers into a run-only mode and still failed to cover a heavy spread at home.

Baltimore +7 over NY Giants – It’s tough to back a rookie quarterback in the Meadowlands against the defending Super Bowl champs, but this the trap game for the Giants. And remember everyone gives the Giants their best shot, except for Andy Reid’s Eagles.

Indianapolis -8 over Houston – The Colts are back and the Texans are, well the Texans. Sage Rosenfels will make at least one huge mistake that will cost the Texans the cover.

Green Bay -3.5 over Chicago – Aaron Rodgers goes nuts this week and not even the rifle arm of Kyle Orton can keep da Bears close.

Philadelphia -9 over Cincinnati – Look for a low scoring game where the Eagles have control and bleed the clock.

Kansas City +5.5 over New Orleans – Dumbest line of the week. With this line the odds-makers made this bold announcement this week – “Free money, step right up and get your free money!”

Minnesota +5 over Tampa Bay – Some games just feel like a field goal type game – this is one of them.

Carolina -14 over Detroit – Jake Delhomme has something to prove and since this will be like a practice for the Panthers, I have a feeling that John Fox is going to try to work exclusively on the passing game.

San Francisco -7 over St. Louis – These two teams headed in opposite directions.

Seattle +3 over Arizona – The Cardinals are peaking ahead to the Giants game. Not a good idea with the Seahawks getting Hasselbeck and Branch back.

Pittsburgh -5 over San Diego – The Steelers are spitting mad at losing that game to the Colts last week and the Chargers are still coached by Norv.

If I had any doubts about this game they were removed when I noticed one of my buddies benched Phillip Rivers for Shaun Hill this week. Yep, it’s going to be that bad for the Chargers.

Dallas -1.5 over Washington – Dallas begins a Giants-esque march to Tampa this week.

Buffalo -5 over Cleveland – I bet ESPN wishes they had flexible scheduling and weren’t stuck with this turd fest. “Never back a quarterback making his second career start on the road in a hostile environment” is a rule that if you live by you won’t go wrong.

Last Week: 5-9
