Week 10 NFL Picks Part II

Filed under: NFL, NFL Predictions — Caveman @ 11:57 pm

Each year I am forced to take one weekend completely off from football due to the draining nature of the sport. This weekend I am taking the much needed sabbatical, therefore the will be no power rankings this week and only quick picks simply to “go on the record”. Why this weekend? Well, for starters last weekend my fantasy teams went 0-5. I received virtually 0 points from Willis McGahee, Steven Jackson and Marion Barber in one league. In another league (where defense is scored at -1 per point allowed), Tampa Bay decided to mail-it-in against Kansas City. My other three leagues I had difficult match-ups and they certainly did not surprise me.

In addition, the Rams are back to looking like the mid-90s version as opposed to the late 90s. And finally, the Huskers were down 35-0 before I finished half a dozen pre-game wings. After all that, I was having thoughts of jumping in my car and heading to Home Depot to load up on various garden tools that could be used to heal injuries. “What’s that – you have a thigh bruise? I will take care of that for you. Sickle, please!”

I think all would agree the above individual needs a break.

Basically the sabbatical works like this – on Friday evening I put in all fantasy lineups (which is incredibly risky if you have a bunch of little girls on your team). Then from Friday evening until Monday morning, I isolate myself from all football. Monday I wake up refreshed and ready to see what has transpired. I liken this to a “colon cleanse”, I clean all the negative “football” toxins from mind and body.

I fully expect that Monday when I check to see the events of the weekend, I will be in the middle of the longest fantasy football losing streak of my life – 10 straight losses.
